21 Series Canceled or Ending in 2023

The channels have no mercy: when it comes to canceling our series, they don’t seem to think twice. Thinking about it, then, we have gathered the main programs that were canceled or will end in 2023. They are critical and public success shows, but that came to an end due to low ratings or simply because they should end. So, check out the main information about the canceled series that say goodbye next year.

Incidentally, for now, we’ll leave Stranger Things off the list. While it’s possible we’ll see the final season in 2023, it’s more likely that it won’t happen until 2024.

Working Moms

The Canadian series has been renewed for a seventh and final season. Creator and actress Catherine Reitman stated, “For our incredible fans, making this show has been the adventure of a lifetime. Our mission was to tell the stories of four failed mothers who sought to be something beyond their ‘mom’ labels.” The last 13 chapters will see the women facing demons from the past so they can move forward into the future.

I never

Like high school in some schools, I Never will end after four years. The romantic comedy series has been renewed for a fourth and final season, which is due to hit the platform in 2023. The series debuted in 2020 and was a great success. The creators stated, “We can’t wait to reveal the hilarious romances and adventures we have in store for you. We thank the fans for their support.”

Renewed for a sixth and final season, Snowfall comes to an end with honors. FX, for example, holds the production in high esteem, considering it one of their classic dramas. FX President of Programming Nick Grad says, “FX partnered with the legendary John Singleton six years ago to bring to life his vision for an ambitious and powerful drama about the exploding crack cocaine epidemic of the 1980s.” Today, the series is going through its best and most watched moment.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

One of Amazon Prime Video’s biggest hits will end in 2023 with its fifth and final season. To the Hollywood Reporter, the creators of the comedy say that the map of the series has always been drawn. “The first year was Midge’s discovery. The second was its development. The third was her going on tour. Amazon has already heard our main points of where the seasons will go.” The public and critical success should deliver a round ending, just as it has done since the premiere.

The Flash

It doesn’t look like a good time for The Flash. In addition to the scandals involving the character’s film, the series does not seem to be in good standing either. Cancelled, the show returns in 2023 for its short and final 9th season. Despite being one of the CW’s gems and having good numbers, the series was cancelled. The show’s star Grant Gustin, meanwhile, claims: “I may never have a job this cool again. So I will not underestimate this chance.”

New Amsterdam

The medical drama will end its run in 2023 with its final and shortest 13-episode season. The series lost good audience numbers, but it was always dedicated to good stories and its talented cast. The creator, David Sculner, said that the legacy of New Amsterdam goes beyond money, audience and awards. “While my emotions range from sadness to joy, I would like to share the recognition of New Amsterdam by the World Health Organization, which makes us more proud than any awards or numbers.” The Organization praised the series’ stories and approaches.

Riverdale, the CW hit, is coming to an end with its seventh season. It is one of the last cancellations after Legends of Tomorrow, Batwoman, Maomi, Legacies, Dynasty, Charmed, Rowell, In the Dark and 4400. Mark Pedowitz, head of the channel, said: “I believe that we should give appropriate endings to long shows. We had a long conversation with the creator and are happy with the decision.” He concludes: “We are going to treat this series the way it deserves”.

FX boss John Landgraf confirmed that Atlanta will end with season four and is one of the canceled series of the year. “After four years of abstinence, we are grateful that Atlanta is back. Donald Glover and his crew filmed the last two seasons.” He goes on to say, “The new season is everything you’ve come to expect from Atlanta – which is to say it will be unexpected. Sit back and enjoy the ride.”

The Crown

The Crown was always scheduled to run for six seasons. Afterwards, the creator stated that he would only have five. This is all to finally go back and ensure that the series would have a sixth year. “As soon as we started discussing the storylines for season five, it became very clear that, to do justice to the richness and complexity of the story, we should go back to the original six-season plan.” The fifth year, finally, arrives in 2022 and the sixth is expected to be released in 2023. Still, The Crown should not address recent moments of the crown, stopping, probably, in the early 2000s.
