Dave Bautista’s goal is to be a good actor, not to become another Dwayne Johnson

Almost every wrestler turned actor is now being compared to Dwayne Johnson for one simple reason – Johnson, also known by his formidable stage name The Rock, is a real Hollywood superstar. This fate did not bypass Dave Batista , who has completely different career priorities. In a recent interview with GQ, Batista admitted that he never aspired to fame, but only wanted to develop his performing skills:

Batista began to try his hand at acting in 2009, being one of the biggest stars in WWE. Looking at how his younger colleague John Cena was going to success, Batista keenly felt unfulfilled and injustice:

At some point, Batista moved from thoughts to actions. Watching the elusive opportunities, the athlete decided to leave the ring forever and did not fail – a few years later, the director and screenwriter James Gunn approved him for the role of Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy, which eventually opened many doors for Batista and gave him the chance to choose roles himself. The efforts of the former wrestler were noticed by other well-known directors, thanks to which he received roles in big films by Denis Villeneuve, Zack Snyder, Ryan Johnson and M. Night Shyamalan.

In the coming months, the artist will release the mystical thriller ” Knock on the Door ” (February 3) and the film comic ” Guardians of the Galaxy 3 ” (May 5), which will close the Drax storyline.
