Our Reporter

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has pardoned nine ‘reformed’ inmates in different correctional centres across the state, his Press Secretary, Mr Humwashi Wonosikou, announced yesterday.

Wonosikou said that the gesture was in the spirit of the Democracy Day celebration.

The release took immediate effect.

The nine pardoned inmates were serving their terms in Ganye, Jada, Jimeta, Numan and Yola old correctional facilities.

The governor acted on the advice of the Advisory Committee on Prerogative of Mercy, and in exercise of the powers conferred on him by Section 212(i) (d) of the 1999 Constitution as amended.
