To ensure a safe environment for Nigeria’s future generation, youths under the auspices of Cleanpick, yesterday, embarked on proper waste disposal and recycling sensitisation in Effurun, Uvwie council area of Delta State.

The youths who marched from Enerhen Junction, Jakpa Junction, Airport Road and converged at Airport Junction, charged the general public to stop indiscriminate dumping of waste in the environment.

Some of the youths bore placards with inscriptions such as “reduce, reuse, recycle,” “save the earth, green Delta,” “don’t throw things anyhow, keep your space clean,” “we are burning up and this is a result of global warming. It is real.”

Speaking with newsmen, founder of Cleanpick, Princess Omeyoma Eshemitan, charged Nigerians, government’s institutions and private organisations to join hands together and ensure wastes recycling facilities are provided in different communities, pointing out that it would create jobs.

“Basically, to get everybody involved and tell them to take action for the sustainability of the environment because our existence is dependent on what we do today. The world is turning into a green economy and Delta State cannot be left behind,” Eshemitan said.
