Ian Ziering: This is what the actor who played Steve Sanders in Beverly Hills 90210 looks like now

It’s been some three decades since Beverly Hills, 90210 premiered on Fox and became one of the fledgling networks’ longest-running and defining hit shows. There were no bigger teen idols on the planet in the early ’90s than the photogenic stars of the sun-kissed soap opera. Jason Priestley, Shannen Doherty, Tori Spelling, Ian Ziering and the late Luke Perry sealed their legacies as icons for millions of young Gen Xers and older millennials.

In the case of Ian Ziering , after a series of small television roles, he appeared on season 4 of Dancing with the Stars in early 2007. Like Jennie Garth, he was thrown out during the semi-finals. Later that year, he was reportedly in the running to replace Bob Barker on The Price is Right, but lost the game show gig to Drew Carey. “I guess he was a little disappointed,” Ziering told People magazine. “I really expected that to happen.”

A few years later, Ian Ziering made a comeback in the most unlikely way. In 2013, at age 49, he guest-starred in the famous Chippendales male strip show in Las Vegas. His role was expanded by popular demand. Also that year, he starred in Sharknado, a disaster movie parody co-starring Tara Reid. That TV movie became an internet sensation that spawned three sequels, including Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens in 2016. Even over the years, Ian has been steadfast in his love of acting and entertainment.

Ziering is also the proud father of two children with his wife Erin Kristine Ludwig , a nurse whom he married in 2010. His previous marriage to Playboy model Nikki Schieler ended in divorce in 2002. Ian Ziering admitted that he only agreed to star . Sharknado movies because he needed to support his children. “Halfway through the script, I said to my wife, ‘Honey, I don’t know about this.’ She didn’t miss a beat, she said, ‘Look, you’re going to have two babies [for] this spring, you have to go to work.’

Last year Ian Ziering and Erin Ludwig unfortunately had to settle their divorce. They have agreed to joint custody of their two children, Mia Loren, 11, and Penna Mae, 9, and will share equal time with the children going forward, according to the documents. The petition for the uncontested dissolution of their marriage also lays out plans for Ziering to pay child support and how the former couple will divide their own financial assets going forward.
