James Gunn Would Like To Work With DC’s Guardians Of The Galaxy Cast

Director of the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy, James Gunn revealed in a recent interview that he intends to work with the cast he commanded in the MCU again, this time in a DC Studios production, which he now chairs alongside Peter Safran. To Empire, the filmmaker said that Chris Pratt, Pom Klementieff, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista and Karen Gillan are like “a family” and that he knows he will work “with all of them individually in the future. Probably at my new job.”

While he’s already working out the calendar for future DC Studios releases – including a Superman movie he’s personally writing – Gunn defines these first few months at the helm of the label as “a very healthy part-time job that takes 40 to 60 hours per week.” For now, his “full-time job” remains finishing Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which will be released in 2023.

It is worth remembering that Klementieff, Sean Gunn and Michael Rooker, who also starred in the Marvel Studios franchise, have also appeared in The Suicide Squad, a film released by DC in 2021 and which featured direction and script by Gunn.

The film will feature the return of the core team of Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan and Pom Klementieff. Among the new cast, highlight for Will Poulter as the hero Adam Warlock and Maria Bakalova as Cosmo.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 premieres on May 5, 2023.
