Jeremy Renner announces he has been discharged: “At home with the family”

Jeremy Renner was discharged from the hospital after recovering from a serious accident he suffered in early 2023. And he was the one who broke the news about his health status. On Twitter, the interpreter of Gavião Arqueiro said that he was already at home with his family. Look:

When responding to a tweet from Paramount’s profile of Mayor of Kingstown, one of his projects, the star wrote: “A little bit of mental confusion aside, I was very excited to watch episode 201 with my family at home.”

Renner was hospitalized in critical condition after having an accident shoveling snow on January 1. According to his representative, he suffered “chest trauma and orthopedic injuries” and, after undergoing two surgeries, was admitted to an Intensive Care Unit. Days later, Renner thanked the medical team in a hospital photo.

Officially, the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, where the accident occurred, has not revealed details of the circumstances that led to the actor’s injuries, just assured that a team is investigating the case. However, according to a neighbor of the actor interviewed by TMZ, a Snowcat – snow removal machine – accidentally ran over one of Renner’s legs, causing significant blood loss.

A Marvel veteran, Renner has played Clint Barton since Thor, when he only made a cameo as one of Agent Coulson’s (Clark Gregg) men, but he was known worldwide in The Avengers. However, the hero wasn’t the only role that made him a celebrated actor. His performance in War on Terror, a feature film by director Kathryn Bigelow, earned him his first Oscar nomination in 2010. He returned to compete for the statuette a year later, this time as a supporting actor for the film Dangerous Attraction.

Outside of the awards circuit, he’s become a household name in the action genre as well thanks to the Mission: Impossible franchise, in which he made his debut in 2011’s Ghost Protocol, and was even considered a candidate to succeed Matt Damon after starring in The Bourne Legacy in next year.

Renner currently stars in the Paramount+ series Mayor of Kingstown, which premieres its second season this January.
