The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) yesterday urged the Vice-Chancellor of the Bauchi State University, Prof. Auwalu Uba to reinstate the recently expelled students of the institution.

NANS Director of Administration and Strategy, Sani Mohammed Hassan in a statement issued in Abuja urged the institution to revisit its decision and reinstate the students.

NANS said based on its investigations, it was discovered that the students involved were guilty of all the allegations levelled against them.

The body also commended the V-C in the area of students’ welfare which the group said it’s the most important aspect of school life.

NANS also passed a confidence vote on the V-C for his exemplary leadership capacity and tremendous contributions to the development, peace, unity and progress of the institution.

“We salute the management of the institution for their commitment and dedication towards students’ welfare.

“We hope that the management will temper justice with mercy as we also urge the Bauchi State government not relent in giving support to the institution.”

“We equally, commend the Bauchi State government for its milestone achievements in the educational sector and we call for more funding for the institution.
