Jordan Peele, director of No! Do not look! already has his most anticipated film – and also feels envy. For the Happy Sad Confused podcast, the filmmaker commented on what he thinks of Oppenheimer, a feature film directed by Christopher Nolan and starring Cillian Murphy (Peaky Blinders).
“I don’t work for the movie, I don’t have a contract or anything,” Peele told the podcast. “All I can say is I’m so jealous that I wasn’t on set for this production. The talent is incredible. The pictures, I’ve seen some pictures of him that look so beautiful. It’s going to be a real… [interrupts] It’s what excites me the most in 2023”
Oppenheimer’s story follows the title character, played by Cillian Murphy, the physicist who headed the Los Alamos Laboratory in New Mexico during World War II, where he developed the first nuclear weapons.
Christopher Nolan directs and signs the screenplay, which is based on Kai Bird and Martin Sherwin’s biography, American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer, published in 2006.
Oppenheimer’s star-studded cast also includes Florence Pugh, Jack Quaid, Matthew Modine, Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, Robert Downey Jr., Josh Hartnett, Kenneth Branagh, Gary Oldman, Rami Malek, Gustaf Skarsgard, Dane DeHaan, Jason Clarke and Casey Affleck , between others.
The premiere of the film was scheduled for July 20, 2023 in Brazil.
