ALL is not well in the home of Paul ‘Rudeboy’ Okoye, one half of the P-Square duo. His marriage to Anita Okoye is currently troubled.

The crack in their union became noticeable in March 2021 after Anita relocated to the United States of America. Anita moved out of the couple’s home to the U.S with their three children – Andre, Nadia, and Nathan.

On Friday, August 20, news filtered into town that Anita had finally decided to quit her marriage and move on while the singer continued to adjust to the new life.

In a court document published by Pulseng, Anita requested for the dissolution of her marriage for five reasons ranging from lack of mutual conjugal relationship to lack of communication and irreconcilable differences.

According to Anita’s lawyers, she no longer enjoys a mutual conjugal relationship as a wife to her celebrity husband. The sultry entrepreneur stressed that Paul denied her any form of companionship and love which are the integral components of all successful marriages.

Anita further revealed that she and her husband no longer have communication as a couple. She said they no longer communicate as a couple stating that the marriage has broken down irretrievably because of lack of love and compatibility.

The mother of three also cited an extreme indifference from the ‘Reason with me’ singer towards her feelings. She noted that their relationship went cold and all attempts to savour what was left of it, was met with stiff resistance from the singer, who spots a dreadlock.

Anita, who also said Paul ceased all forms of communication with her before she moved out of the house, expressed lack of spousal support. The fashion entrepreneur said that the music star neglected his responsibility as a husband and father by refusing to support and cater to her and her family members.

Rounding it off, Anita cited irreconcilable differences. The music star’s university sweetheart said she wants out of their marriage over irreconcilable differences.

Meanwhile, Anita’s lawyers advised Rudeboy to challenge the claims and his estranged wife’s petition if he feels disgruntled.

The Nation had inquired from some of the close aides of the couple if there are other issues aside from what Anita gave as reasons for seeking divorce in her petition, it was gathered that the couple did not witness any form of violence, abuse or assault in their seven years of being married.

In 2019, Anita was accused by a popular aphrodisiac vendor of buying items to keep her marriage together. The vendor later took down the story from Instagram.

Anita and Paul got married in 2014 in a very flamboyant wedding ceremony which was held in Port Harcourt.

Counsel to Paul Okoye, Barrister Somadina Eugene Okorie of Senocean Law Practice, was reported to have said he is yet to receive a brief on the alleged divorce filed by Anita.

“I don’t think this subject is worth breaking a sweat on, since as I talk with you, I’m yet to receive a brief touching on the news already in circulation. If the story is real, I would have been briefed by now and this is devoid of sentiments,” he said.

However, when The Nation reached out to a close source in Rudeboy’s camp through phone calls and sms, it was gathered that the situation was more than a storm in a tea cup.

“ We are good, just give me time. I’ll revert,” one of Paul’s aides said.

Paul’s twin brother, Peter and his elder brother, Jude Okoye have remained mum on the crisis rocking his marriage. Since 2014, the Okoye twins had called it quits with their relationship and avoided each other while maintaining a dual property inside highbrow parkview estate, Ikoyi.
