Power Ranger: Actress who plays Kimberly says why she wasn’t in the special

After the news of the Power Ranger 30th anniversary Netflix special featuring almost the original cast, many fans questioned the absence of Amy Jo Johnson, who plays Kimberly Hart/Power Ranger Pink. On her twitter, the actress herself justified the reason for not appearing in the production:

“For the record, I never said no… I just didn’t say yes to what was offered. But other fun things are in the pipeline! Can’t wait to see my friends rock!”; said Amy.

Titled Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always, the special will star David Yost (Billy, the Blue Ranger), Walter Emanuel Jones (Zack, the Black Ranger), and Catherine Sutherland (Kat, the Second Pink Ranger), as well as Steve Cardenas, Karan Ashley and Johnny Yong Bosch. Barbara Goodson, the voice of Rita Repulsa, will also return.

The new adventure will bring the rangers “face to face with a threat from the past”. The synopsis continues: “In the midst of a global crisis, they are called upon to once again be the heroes the world needs. Inspired by the legendary mantra ‘once a ranger, always a ranger’, Once & Always reminds everyone that when you becomes a ranger, you are always part of the family”.

It is not yet known whether the special will have any tribute to Jason David Frank, the Green Ranger, who died in November, aged 49.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once and Always premieres on Netflix on April 19.
