Its success was so great that it ended up becoming a series and its publication was from November 2012 until June 2019. Due to the fever that the manga reached, in 2014 the publisher Shueisha announced the production of Shokugeki no Souma in its anime version. The first episode of the plot premiered in 2015 and production is heading into its fifth and final season.

The story that is told is that of a boy named Soma Yukihira, who has a dream of becoming a renowned chef. However, an urban life planner appears in the boy’s and his father’s lives, threatening to close the family restaurant.

Joichiro, Soma’s father, decides to close his doors for three years and go cook in America, which left the boy desolate, thinking that he could not follow his dream. Soma’s father, seeing the boy’s strength of will, says that he will have to successfully finish his studies at the Totsuki Culinary Academy, an elite cooking academy, where less than 1% of the students manage to graduate.
