The whole Star Wars franchise essentially sums up the childhood memories of many people. Even during its original run that was released between 1977-1983, it gained immense love among viewers. The impact had on Hollywood and the space opera genre was immense. Even the releasing sequence of the movies was quite unique. The first trilogy began in the middle of the story. Then the prequel was released and following it came the sequel to it. This peculiar chronology of the films piqued the viewers’ interest, as they witnessed different aspects of the story in a unique way. Many standalone, TV series, and animated series are also part of the franchise. Now a Japanese anime anthology is set to release based on the Star Wars universe. The production for Star Wars: Vision began in December 2020. It was announced to release as a 10 short film anime anthology series. The objective of this series is to explore the full potential of the Star Wars universe. And with the popularity of anime, this would clearly result in the making of the best series in the storyline. Star Wars: Vision first premiered at the Anime Expo Lite in July 2021. There it was announced that it would release as a 9 episode series. A novel built around one of the short films, Ronin: A Visions Novel, is announced to be released in October 2021.

Premise Of Star Wars: Vision
The story of this anthology series doesn’t follow the established Star Wars timeline. Indeed, it will give a whole new perspective to the story. The nine short films will talk of different characters at particular points in time. ‘Lop and Ochō’ is set between the films Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. In addition to that, an alternate history was used for the story of The Duel. It is based on Japanese lore. The Elder takes place sometime before The Phantom Menace and The Twins after the events of The Rise of the Skywalker. Also, The Ninth Jedi will explore the events after The Rise of the Skywalker.

Other Movies In Franchise
The original trilogy was released between 1977-1983. However, they have numbered Episodes IV, V & VI because they start in the middle of the story. Later, the prequels and sequels were released. Episodes I, II & III was released between 1999-2005. Finally, the last trilogy, Episode VIII, IX & X, was released between 2015-2019. The whole series became a trilogy of trilogies and came to be known as the Skywalker Saga. The principal story of the series focused on the continuous struggles between the Skywalker family and the Sith Lord Darth Sidius (Palpatine). The prequel talks of Anakin Skywalker’s life and his subsequent transformation into Darth Vader. The original trilogy follows Anakin’s children, Luke and Leia, who fight against him and Palpatine’s Galactic Empire. The sequel trilogy revolves around Anakin’s grandson and Leia’s son, Han Solo and Palpatine’s granddaughter Rey.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008) was the first animated series in the franchise. It revealed the presence of Padawan, Ahsoka Tano, as Anakin’s apprentice between Episodes II & III. Although criticized in the start, fans greatly praised the show towards its ending. A special TV series titles Star Wars Holiday Special (1978) was produced for CBS. It showcased various stars from the series alongside celebrity guests. They performed skits and musicals based on the story. Additionally, two spin-off series were made around the Ewok species introduced in Episode VI. The first TV film, The Ewok Adventure, was released in 1984. Its sequel, Ewoks: The Battle for Endor, was released in 1985.

When Is Star Wars: Visions Releasing?
According to official dates, Star Wars: Visions is all set to release on September 22, 2021. Fans of the series can watch it on Disney . Kevin Penkin composed the songs for The Village Bride and Michiru Ōshima for The Twins and The Elder. In conclusion, the anthology contains 9 short films spread across the Star Wars galaxy.
