Storm Reed: Get used to LGBT stories in The Last Of Us series or just don’t watch

Actress Storm Reed, who played Ellie’s close friend Riley on The Last Of Us, reached out to the “haters” and suggested that they either reconsider their priorities for LGBT stories or not watch the show at all:

As Bella Ramsay said when Episode 3 aired, “If you don’t like it, then just don’t watch it.” We tell important stories. We tell stories about people’s experiences, and that’s what I live for. That’s what makes a good story, because we’re telling the stories of the people that exist in this world.

I know that people will think what they want to think. But they will have to get used to it. If you don’t want to watch a show because it has LGBT stories, because it has a trans character, that’s up to you and you’re missing out on a lot.

It’s 2023 now. If you care about who I love, then you should sort out your priorities. There are so many other things in life to worry about. Why do you care that these young people – or anyone – love each other? Love is beautiful, and what people say about it is just nonsense.

The seventh episode of The Last of Us is out today. We are waiting for the next series on March 6th.
