Uncharted 2022 Movie Review Explained, Release Date, Cast, Trailer

Sony has officially started releasing footage from its upcoming Uncharted movie adaption, which stars Tom Holland. No, that footage isn’t available to the general public. However, there are plenty of audience reactions to analyze, which is just as valuable, right? Hey, sometimes it’s best to just take whatever scraps the table has to offer.

The Uncharted movie has been in the works for a long time. It’s been a long time coming. The film’s release date has been pushed back not only due to the pandemic, but also due to a slew of behind-the-scenes challenges, including repeated director changes.

Why has this egg been so difficult to crack? We actually asked one of the directors who dropped out of the Uncharted film that very question. It turns out that adopting one of the most popular video games comes with a lot of strain.

Uncharted 2022 About

The presence of Tom Holland’s Nathan Drake and Mark Wahlberg’s Sully on camera is a good indicator that the Uncharted film will finally be released after years of development hell. And, even better, it’s the second piece of proof we’ve seen this week that the film is real: On Monday, the New York Times published a new photo showing Holland and Walhberg together in a scene.

According to rumors, the footage centered on our two protagonists, Tom Holland’s Nathan Drake and Mark Wahlberg’s Sully, with one scene supposedly showing Nathan entering a “cave-like location,” which should come as no surprise to video game enthusiasts. Sully is said to have spoken to Drake and made him an intriguing offer he can’t refuse in another segment of film. “I’m offering you a chance to find/discover things you’ve only heard about,” Sully says in a scene that most likely takes place at the start of the film. Uncharted Movie Review

Nathan Drake, played by Tom Holland, is seen jumping out of an airplane in Uncharted. While everyone’s attention has been drawn to Holland’s other impending blockbuster, Spider-Man: No Way Home, which will be released in December, Sony has been quietly preparing their next big video game adaptation for theaters. Uncharted was originally scheduled to be published in June 2016, however it has been postponed multiple times due to changes in the cast and director. Holland joined the project in 2017, indicating that the film would focus on a younger version of the main character.

Uncharted is set to hit theaters in just over six months, but no footage has been released for the general audience. Sony, on the other hand, recently debuted previously unseen footage from the film at CinemaCon. A few moments are seen in the brief footage, including one with Nathan Drake entering a cave-like location. “I’m offering you a chance to find/discover things you’ve only heard about,” Sully says in another image. Nathan Drake is seen tumbling out of a cargo plane with some of the cargo going out with him in the money shot, which appears to be a preview for a huge action scenario. The sizzle trailer comes to a close with a sight of Sully at an auction.

Even before the second game in the series was released, rumors about an Uncharted movie began to circulate. We’ve been speculating about it since at least 2008, a long time before filming was purportedly completed in October of last year. However, in the age of COVID, studios are scrambling to find new ways to get their films in front of theater audiences, and Sony Pictures has just announced fresh premiere dates for a number of upcoming films.

Uncharted was supposed to hit theaters this year, but the COVID-19 pandemic hit the entertainment sector hard, forcing us to wait until 2022 to see the much-anticipated adventure film.

Uncharted is set to be released on February 18, 2022, and is directed by Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland, Venom). Holland plays Nathan Drake, an explorer slash adventurer in the vein of Indiana Jones, in this rough adaptation of the blockbuster video game franchise. Sully (Mark Wahlberg), his friend and mentor, joins him, and…about that’s all we know about the film. However, a few small scenes were presented as part of Sony’s major panel at CinemaCon 2021, and we think they’ll please fans.

Uncharted Release Date

Uncharted will be released in theaters on February 18th, 2022. The first clip from Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg’s upcoming Uncharted film has been released. The tiniest peek of the movie was revealed in a new promotional video for Sony — which focuses on its workers — which showed a glimpse of Holland and Wahlberg’s characters Nathan Drake and Victor “Sully” Sullivan. There’s not much to take in from the two seconds of clip, since it’s just a series of fast views of the couple at some type of black-tie event.

The first Uncharted movie was set to be released in 2016 — suffice to say, it has been postponed several times since then. The Uncharted sequel has been postponed another more, this time from February 11 until February 18, 2022.

The film will also be available on Netflix. Netflix now has exclusive rights to stream Sony’s theatrical releases, including Uncharted, Venom 2, and Morbius, according to a new contract. These films, however, will not be available on Netflix at the same time as they are in theaters, but rather within two years of their theatrical release.

Uncharted Cast

Tati Gabrielle plays Braddock, Sophia Ali plays Chloe Frazer, and Antonio Banderas plays an unspecified character in the future film. Uncharted is a prequel to the popular video game of the same name, directed by Ruben Fleischer (Venom). We’ll meet a young Nathan and Sully and learn how their friendship began. For the time being, the rest of the tale has been kept under wraps, and we won’t see a trailer for the film for quite some time. According to Sony Pictures’ official Twitter account, the picture concluded filming in November of last year.

How to Watch Uncharted Online

Other scenes feature Victor “Sully” Sullivan, played by Mark Wahlberg, attempting to persuade Drake to go on an expedition with the promise of seeing things he’d only read about in novels. If anyone was still on the fence about whether or not the Uncharted movie will be an origin narrative, it should be enough to convince them. However, the inclusion of such a sequence with identifiable set pieces like those already described shows that the film intends to mix and combine events from the games as part of Nate’s genesis story rather than following him throughout his entire career.

The audience’s encouraging reactions are undoubtedly worth a little extra hope for those who are still adjusting their expectations. After all, video game movies are difficult to make and have a poor track record. However, there’s always room for hope, and Uncharted may be worth a lot of it.
