Warner executives would be willing to keep Ezra Miller as an interpreter of the Flash in theaters after the premiere of the speedster’s solo film. This information, brought by a source from Variety , is surprising both for the moment of reformulation of DC and for the controversies in which Miller got involved.
In October, director James Gunn ( The Suicide Squad ) and producer Peter Safran were tapped as studio heads for DC Films . Since then, the duo has been working on a long plan for films and series based on the publisher’s universe.
Contrary to what rumors pointed out, Variety claims that the duo should not do a complete reboot of the DC Universe. The site mentions that, in this way, franchises like Aquaman , Shazam! , Blue Beetle , and even Peacemaker can continue as normal.
At this point, The Flash himself can continue even after Ezra Miller goes to jail . However, sources heard by the site claim that Warner executives would be willing to keep Miller due to his good behavior since he started mental health treatment .
For now, DC’s release schedule includes the following films:
Shazam! Wrath of the Gods – March 16, 2023
The Flash – June 16, 2023 (in the US)
Aquaman and the Lost Empire – December 25, 2023
Blue Beetle – 2023 (no date)
Joker 2 – October 4, 2024 (in the US)
Gunn and Safran are expected to present the first plans for DC in theaters in January 2023. Keep an eye on NerdBunker for more information.
