Why I Always Want to play with midfielder Messi – Argentina, Paul

Argentina midfielder Rodrigo de Paul has said that he would always like to have captain Lionel Messi in the team because the Inter Miami striker gives the team ‘peace of mind’.

De Paul was speaking after Argentina’s 1-0 win over Paraguay in World Cup qualifying on Thursday.

Messi entered the fight in the 53rd minute, replacing Julian Alvarez.

Nicolas Otamendi’s goal in the 3rd minute set the tone for Argentina against Paraguay, but Messi’s introduction certainly stabilized the ship.

The seven-time Ballon d’or winner threw a total of 24 passes with a passing accuracy of 74% and almost got on the scoresheet with a free kick that hit the woodwork.

After the game, de Paul said (via AlbicelesteTalk): We always miss him, we always want to have him on the court.

For me it’s a pleasure to come by and give him a pass, to be able to give him a chance.

He gives us a lot of peace of mind. I hope he comes back for the next game because everything is better with him.
